LisaEm MacCom vs Mini vMac

So, I'm trying to see if I can get any of the original Macintosh programming stuff running on LisaEm with the Lisa Workshop.  For my Mac, I'm using Mini vMac.

I have a working LisaEm install, and I have Mini vMac compiled with DC42 support.  I can take a text file, like for example, the MacPaint source files, and copy them over to Mini vMac using ImportFl.  Once it's in Mini vMac, I can read it just fine.  I then take the virtual floppy over to LisaEm, which can also read DC42 disk images, and using the Lisa Workshop's MacCom program, I can read the list of files on the disk.  I then copy them over to the LisaEm hard drive, and attempt to edit them under the Workshop editor.  This is where things get dicey.  I can read most of the file, but bits and pieces are missing and out of order.  Let's say I make a change or two, then save the file.  Then using MacCom again, I try to write the file back to a Mac floppy, and then take the floppy image back to Mini vMac.  Once back, the file is all messed up and full of unusual special characters and completely out of order, though much of the text is still readable.

Has anyone experienced anything like this?  I'm not sure if the blame is Mini vMac's, LisaEm's, or MacCom's.  I can't prove much, because I don't have a Lisa, but given that I was able to copy a native Lisa example file to Mini vMac using the same method and I got a bunch of garbage also, I'd wager that it's something up in LisaEm.

Alternatively, is there a better method to get a source file downloaded from the Internet into the Lisa Workshop under LisaEm?

Thanks in advance!
