LC 580 not powering on

Sure has been a while since I posted anything. Everything's been pretty great so far...

Until this morning when I tried powering on my LC 580. It won't turn on for anything. It worked just fine before one of my classmates moved it, though I supervised them and made sure they unhooked everything properly. Now when I hooked it up and tried powering it on, I got nothing! When I first plugged it back in, I did hear power going through the computer. That was good, but no matter what I do, it simply will not start. I have tried various power cables and various outlets. And it wasn't even plugged in during the electrical storm we had last night :O Hopefully my power supply isn't shot... Time to crack my favorite Mac open and find the problem!

So, other than a shot power supply, what might be causing my LC 580 to not start at all? I did notice I had some trouble plugging the keyboard into its port... Maybe they keyboard/port is at fault?

And then suddenly.... It worked!

Took off the back case, dusted off the power supply/analog board, and tested connections on the hard drive and logic board. After dusting and testing, it just kinda randomly started after connecting the logic board and turning on the switch next to the power cable. Now I must find out why it's asking where its OS is. I will be quite ticked if I have to reinstall everything... :-/

Most Macs that use the long edge connector (eg. 580, 575, 6x00, Colour Classic) seem to have "sudden death" from time to time, Reseating the motherboard and pulling the PRAM battery out seems to resurrect them pretty quickly
