Kid Pix - Not Enough Memory?

I have two copies of Kid Pix on floppy, and when I try to open the program, I get a 'Not Enough Memory' error.  This is despite the program being suited to LC's, and machines I've attempted it on range from a PowerBook 165c through to a G3 Wallstreet.  Every machine comes up with the same error, and it happens whether I open from the disk, or copy to the Hard Drive and open there.

Is this a corruption of the original disks, or something else?  Didn't really use Kid Pix back in the day, although my brother and sister used to use it all the time on the family LC 575 with 5MB of RAM, so it should be sweet.  Corruption is possible, but on both copies?  Hmm...

Check the RAM allocation. Kid Pix is usually pretty smart about knowing how much RAM it needs to run and will prompt you to re-adjust if you have the setting too high or too low for your machine.

1464K is the suggested size for a color machine. 2048K is more than adequate for the program.

My first guess is that you have a corrupted copy of the program. I have used Kid Pix on everything from a Plus to a G3 without any problems.

Out of curiosity, which version number of Kid Pix do you have?

Same here as Scott B.

Single click the icon and File menu -> Get Info,  From there you can adjust the allocated memory size of KidPix. I set the "Preferred Memory" and "Max Memory" to be the same.

Also, check the Mac's Memory Control Panel and have 32bit mode "on" if the machine has more than 8Megs of RAM.

I think it's the original, white labels with black and red text.  I'm sure my family had 2.0 and I seem to recall a yellow disk.

Will give those options a shot and will see what happens!
