Does anyone know the pinout for the Harman Kardon iSub power supply? I've googled without success and tried the usual pinout archives. Got one here with a dead PS and I'm hoping to get it working again.

Any info about getting it to work with newer Macs and/or PCs would be handy too - I'm still Googling that.

Ta folks.

Hi

The iSub is USB and will work with a G5 even, just plug it in. if you still need the pinout let us know.

The iSub/ soundsticks set that I have certainly includes a separate power supply, but I'm afraid that I don't have the pinout details.

The sound is wonderful. There is a huge difference, for example, between what it pumps out and the sound native to my iMac G5. The iSub/Soundstick combo was also very noticeably better than the speaker system that came with the G4 Cube that preceded my iMac, and that was miles better than the iMac's also.

I do seem to recall having read somewhere that an iSub will not work with machines running anything after X.4. Mind you, I haven't tested this personally, as I have nothing here in the house running X.5, but I would be delighted to learn that I had read wrongly, as I'd like to keep the things going for a good while yet.

What I can tell you is that my system sounds great, and that for casual listening it would be well worth your taking the trouble to get it working.

Or a multimeter?

Don't have one, no. I have been pondering the possibility, however, so the time may well be nigh....

Today, however, I have to buy a car. I think that Herself will deem further expenditure to be verboten for a little while.

A $10 multimeter is a legitimate car maintenance expense }:) How else are you supposed to diagnose battery and alternator problems? Check that you're getting 12V to your tail-light? Etc

iMac G5 speakers are miles better then the cold lifeless intel AL iMac speakers. Just a note :)
