Intel Pentium IV board and 1.5Ghz CPU + RAM

I got this to replace the Socket-A board and duron that I had for the server. This should kick it into high-gear. it sucks, yes, but it's not going to be doing much. It should work fine.

We are putting a DVD-+RW DL in it, 40GB IDE, and PCI-SATA RAID card, with 2x 1TB Drives (7200RPM) and 768MB of memory. It will house about 512 for now or I might get a 512 and combine it with 2x 256 and get that up and running.

Will be running Server 2k3 on it and have remote management software

The only issue with that board that I can see is that it uses SDRAM. The memory bandwith of that memory is a bit of a bottleneck for a processor that wants data fed to it quickly.

SDRAM was in interim step between RAMBUS memory that the Pentium 4 originally used to DDR memory.

aaaannnddd... it's doa :(

It doesn't even post. I have tried every possible configuration. with one ram stick, with a couple, with two different video cards (interestingly enough, the nVidia card posts the video bios, but then restarts back and does the video bios post again) Anyone got any ideas? I have never worked with an Intel brand board and am looking up anything I can about it...

The only thing I can think of is to check the extra 4-pin power connector on the motherboard. Also check the capacitors for bulging ones. They happen on Intel boards too.

Yeah, I got the 4-pin connector on. I contacted the seller and I am trouble-shooting it with him. I might just get a replacement board (he seems to have others...)

The guy is going to send me a new board @ no-cost. If it doesn't work out and it's the CPU (probably not) then I will send the board back and get another CPU. I am thinking a 2.0Ghz 400MHz FSB
