I had Imperialism working fine under OS8.6. After some hardware problems came and went, now, when I try to play Imperialism, every action evokes a long delay before anything happens. This delay also happens when I try to scroll the screen by putting the cursor near the edges.
Anyone solved this? Frustratingly, I think I've solved this before, but it was so long ago I don't remember anything about it.
I'm playing on an S900 logic board with a gigahertz G3 (set to 800 MHz) and 500+ MBs of RAM. Virtual memory is off.
I'm not sure it's related, but the machine also refuses to save any games, either manually or autosave, when I run it from a drive mirrored with SoftRaid. It saves okay when run from an unmirrored volume. In both cases the slowness/delay problem persists.
