Bought an iMac G4 700mhz 15", 768Mb RAM, 40GB HD, combo drive with apple wireless keyboard, powercord and original speakers for 50€. The seller thought the HD was broken, but no. Nothing so far by disk utility so i installed fresh copy of 10.4 to it and it works like a charm!
I am considering intalling full 1GB of RAM, DVD-+RW drive, larger HD (happen to have spare 250GB-drive sitting in the shelf), maybe Aiport card and bluetooth (is it possible, haven't checked yet) to use the wireless keyboard, or just an USB-bluetooth dongle. And then also install 10.5 leopard to it a well.
Been looking for the 17" or 20" 1.0 or 1.25Ghz model, but this caught my eye, Maybe someday, who knows.
Also re-liberated. Powermac G5 1.8Ghz, 4GB RAM, 160GB HD, DVD-+RW, airport. Once bought this and then sold to co-worker for this first Mac. He used it few years and upgraded the RAM and now he traded it back to me (after getting intel iMac, Mac mini, iPad and also a Cube i gave to him). I re-installed it with needed software to a friend's wife, who used it for month or so, after realizing she wants an Intel-machine, iMac 27". So i got the machine back. Round we go. Love the design! I can't get part of this untill i can afford Mac Pro..
I have my eye on one iMac G5 next week (for free, real liberation!) but haven't had the change to check it if it boots up or not. If it doesn't, it is not worth the work to open it and salvage parts (have donee it once and will not do again). Memory will take, nothing else.
