I didn't know Houston had a Value Village

Ran some errands today. Went to the post office and then to the storage unit. To get to the storage place I took a cross street that I've never driven on. Right next to each other on the street, is a Salvation Army store and a Value Village!

I went to the Salvation Army first. They had one monitor, one PC, and one keyboard, all over priced. Next, the Value Village - it was like night and day. They had several monitors, Compaq computers, printers, DirecTV receivers, and, one Macintosh IIsi!

Looks like it has 8 MB of RAM (4x2 MB SIMMs). Hopefully it turns on - my old IIsi didn't and it got parted out.

Nice! The IIsi is my favorite model of the series.

I love finding stuff in thrift stores, but lately, the local Goodwill has been marking anything having to do with computers up; I saw a Quadra 630 in there once for $74.99!

Congrats, though :)

It does turn on and boot from a floppy. The included hard drive seems dead. Another drive made clicking noises. I tried a 1.2 GB HD but it still won't mount. I hope it's not a bad SCSI on the motherboard :(

Luckily I have a spare IIsi board so that might come in handy if necessary.

Another happy Value Village customer. Value Village is my favorite store. They have everything. If only the store in Sudbury had computers when I go there.
