HP Pavilion 505w

Not the baddest piece of machinery on earth, but a friend unloaded a Pavilion 505w on me;

2.4GHz Celeron

512MBs of RAM (2GB system max)

80GB Seagate

DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive

An ASUS mATX board that's lacks AGP, but has 3x PCI available.

I may throw some more RAM in there or use the fact that I have a nice case and optical drive as a reason to buy a 780G-based mATX board, some DDR2 and a 45w Athlon 4850e.

Nice, a friend has a Dell with a Celeron, an it's pretty fast, even when emulating Linux, which is what he did so he wouldn't void his warranty.

TetrisMaster: What the hell? I had Mandrake 10 running on my Dell when it was still under warranty, and it was fine...there is no way that installing Linux can void a computer's warranty - it doesn't affect the hardware in any way, shape or form.

Is the board a P4P800-MX? Had the same board and replaced it because I wanted to have a decent video card. Once I grab 512 MB of RAM I can throw it and a 2.6 P4 into my server.
