how to run 16 color game on PCI powermac

Is there any trick to use 16 colors on Power Mac 8500? The 8500 is a good machine for all classic games and can run System 7. But the problem is when you try to run old game that need 16 colors or B&W screen ... :?:

I am trying to program something that will force the mac to display 1-bit. Otherwise use vMac or the like.
