Hello,

I am trying to rescue old Macintosh executable programs from 400K and 800K floppies. I'm able to read the floppies, but haven't found a way to bring them into the latest OS X environment. I would be grateful for any advice how to use OS 9 or earlier to create .dsk files which could be loaded into Mini vMac.

Thanks for any help,

Zmac

Use ShrinkWrap (Look on Mac Garden)

Convert them to "MS-DOS" disk images. Name them [whatever].dsk

You now have DSK files.

I, on the other hand, use macs and have some .dsk images for Apple ][ computers. Is that all .dsk are, are MS-DOS images? Any advice on how I can copy these images onto real floppies that a ][ can read?

TIA

About the only way to read/write Apple II disks is with an Apple II... the tricky part is getting the image transferred to the A2 in the first place. ADTPro is probably the best place to start as it handles a number of different transfer methods.
