Hard drive spin up, blank screen?

One of the things i added to my souped up PowerMac 7300 was a SCSI card and an LVD hard drive, Seagate 80GB@ 10,000RPM . Now this drive takes a bit longer then its original HDD to spin up and i don't think the system likes this. I have to wait for it to spin up and then reset it in order for it to even show anything on the monitor. It will chime on the first attempt tho. I know some PCs have the option for a HDD delay that you can set to compensate for drives like this, and i would like to know if there is a similar setting fro the mac?

Thanks in advance!

I recall certain hard disk formatting tools let you specify a wait state/delay in the system boot process to allow a disk to spin up; perhaps check out FWB toolkit first.
