I snagged a boxed set of assorted translucent/transparent iMac era candy colored "Mac HD" FDDs today. They'll look nice displayed on the multiple workstation/display shelving system I'm finishing up down in the living room . . .
it's VERY strange to SEE the actual storage media disk inside the plastic . . .
. . . might even get some practical use out of them too!
total cost: $3.00!
The other was a Big@$$ solid oak edged/plywood backed hutch/desk topper for one of the five workstations up in the front bedroom/office/MacHackCentral. Its got some nicely arranged fixed shelves, one short adjustable one and a big wide shelf all across the top. It also has an opening in it for the @$$-end of one of my spare 21" CRTs and an existing wire run out the back, right in the middle of the bottom/back edge.
Not a bad snag at $34.00, certainly couldn't get that much solid oak edge facing/oak veneer plywood (even particle board if that's what it turns out to be, but it doesn't seem to weigh enough for that level of resin content) and a sheet of thin oak veneer plywood for the back for anywhere near that price!
