Although I have tinkered with macs in recent years it has been ages since I actually purchased one. Today @ my local auction picked up a good looking Powerbook 150. I know it s not the best model but at least it uses IDE. For 8 euro I couldn't resist. No psu but I had one laying around from my 145b. Worked straight out of the box.

I got a SE/30 for around 10€, and it's crap.

IIRC, the 150 has a passive matrix display. You got lucky it doesn't have the tunnel effect.

LOL   As an "export business" based in the USA, a weaker pound/euro is actually bad for me, because it effectively makes my stuff more expensive for those people.

Congrats on the PB150! That's a great find for 8 units of any currency...

In any case, the PB 150 is a personal favourite of mine for no good reasons at all. I remember borrowing one back in the day. I bet that person has since thrown it into a bin.

I agree with the others - nice find.  I know there are those that don't like these, but I really like the minimalist fun the 150 provides.  I have one of these that runs perfectly and I like taking it out for a spin now and then.  Congrats!

Thanks for the kind words, guys. It is a shame that it only comes with 4mb of ram. The upgrades seem to be a bit on the expensive side! And a harddrive uprade doesn't seem to all that easy. Battery is dead in the water (naturally), might try to revive it). Time to upload Tom Spreen's breaker and have some fun. I loved this game as a kid. It was one of the few games that you would find on magazine cdrom's that work on my trusty old Mac Classic around 96/97...

Thanks, I hope I stops right now . I have to many old computers and videogame consoles lying around the house already . I would prefer to first get everything up and running . Love your avatar. It is actually the first video game I every paid the shareware fee for sadly got a code for one of their other games...

Yeah. It's definitely a great game. I played the shareware version loads back in the day. It was the first ten levels of the game and it got progressively faster the more you played. Believe it or not, you can still buy the game from the developer! I paid for a licence just like two years ago. I feel like it was about time after 25 years of enjoyment!
