So my Mum and I went to the markets this morning, where I found a stall selling a little portable quad-speed Creative CD-ROM drive. Its a SCSI-2 drive, with a 68 pin port. Thankfully, I've got a 68 pin -> 50 pin adaptor, which should allow me to use it on a vintage Mac's SCSI-1 bus. It didn't come with driver disks, and I actually have no clue if it even has any Mac support (Creative isn't very good in that department
), but I'm hoping I'll be able to use it with the CD-Sunrise driver, or with Apple CD-ROM 5.3.2. (which apparently supports most 3rd party drives)
The thing looks like a discman, except that it has no battery compartment, and has the aforementioned 68 pin SCSI port at the back. It has controls on it for the use of audio CDs, as well as digital out, line-out and headphones jacks.
