Color Classic grey screen

Hi all,

I'm working on a stock Color Classic which will now produce a stable grey screen and then hang. Pressing the NMI keys will play the sad Mac, and I am able to access the serial debugger.

The machine consistently returns *APPLE*3B2E70BF1600*j* . The same for the response code - 3B2E70BF1600*R. Any critical test just returns an error - *ERROR**T.

The 1600 code isn't listed in any of the documentation I have seen, but AI seems to link it to a memory issue. I'm able to set and read RAM values, and they seem sane.

The system had minor capacitor leaking and was not battery bombed. Full clean and recap of both the analog and logic board. I have pulled all of the chips near any leakage and tested continuity using the BOMARC drawings. I have not found any broken traces thus far. The only other unusual thing was a failed lower ROM which I was able to sort out. 5V is stable. I unfortunately do not have another system to swap with at the moment.

Anyone have any further troubleshooting ideas?

Thanks,
-Matt
