CodeWarrior 8.0 Pro for Mac free for the asking?

I haven't yet gotten a reply, but I have seen multiple people claim that if you ask Freescale via their support page, they will send you a licensed copy free.

Of course, don't post your copy anywhere, but point people to them - best not to have this niceness taken away!

Thanks for the tip! I just sent in a service request and will update on the status of mine if I hear anything...

Sadly, I didn't get a free copy...the support rep handling my question basically just told me that CodeWarrior for Mac is discontinued (duh, I already knew that) and didn't give me any mention of a free download. All I ended up with was a link to the page for downloading patches and updates. Maybe it's luck of the draw?

I asked an online live chat person and they didn't have any idea -- they said to do a service request (which is what I tried initially).

Yeah, I got one from someone claiming they *NEVER* made it for Mac OS... I'm guessing the person who posted about this elsewhere may have just gotten a long-time rep that knew about it and was willing to do it.

My attempt failed as well. The service rep "Jennie" is completely oblivious. When I told her I was informed that the product was available as a download, she asked for the person who told me this so she can get in touch with him/her. This is her response:

Anyway if this people is from Freescale, you could let me know his full name or email, I can contact him for you.
If he is not from Freescale. I suggest you have to contact him directly. I appreciate your understanding.
So, does this mean that if someone who is not from Freescale has the compressed file, that she is giving her blessing to distribute it? (I'm not going to assume this, English is obviously not her first language, but I thought it was kind of amusing).
