Best way to fill in deep scratches?

I have an Apple IIe I'm prepping to sell.  It has the failed Retr0Brite on it, so I'm going to go ahead and prime it, then give it a light paint of Pantone 453.  Should look good as new.

However, before I do that, the top of the case has a pretty bad gash.  It was like that when I got it, looks like something metal and heavy was scrapped on it, left a nasty gorge.

Anyway, I want to fill in the gash before I paint.  I was thinking of using Bondo.  Would that work?  I'd then follow it by usin some modeling clay, press it firmly against the textured surface, then press it agains the filler.  That way the filled gash will have have the texture of the rest of the case.  Hopefully when I'm done painting, it'll be seamless.

Grey or Plumber's Epoxy - the type you mix up by folding it over and over with your fingers, should best before you prime and paint it You should also sand the case a bit for the primer to catch to the plastic.
