Long ago, in a universe far away, the details of which are shrouded in the mists of failing memory, I acquired a yellowed pair of AppleDesign Speakers. Like most of what I have acquired of Macdom in remote spatio-temporal worlds, they went on a shelf and did not get much use. That is, until yesterday.
Cosmetically, they were and are a little "challenged," shall we say. They also had a noisy static problem. A little contact cleaner on the volume button cured the static problem, and then they got plugged into a G5 tower, which had briefly been using G4 Cube speakers previously (if connected to an Apple ADC LCD, contrary to what you usually read on the web, they seem to work fine with most any AGP machine).
Well, I am pleased to report that ye olde AppleDesign Speakers are a good deal superior to the G4 Cube's speakers. Richer sound all around. And, speaking of remote temporal worlds, Cream's Badge and White Room sounded fab.
