Apple II 5.25 DSHD question

I was just offered 1,000 brand new 5.25 memorex disks but they are 2shd I know HD and DD has issues on the 3.5 disk. But anyone use he DSHD disks on Apple II series computers without issues?

Has anyone tried using them? I mean they are litterally 1/100th the cost of the ones people sell specifically for the Apple II (IE: 2S/HD)

this is so funny, its almost like were on a island fighting over the last can of pea's

i would of never thought growing up, there would be a day, we are making this much effort to find working floppy disks like this.

i just bought a box of NIB sealed 1995 sony HD 3 1/2 , only 2 disks out of 10 were able to format with out failure.

just like soon all the SCSI drives in all these machines, 2.5, 3.5 will be bad.

its like we are experiencing first hand fully End-of-life, with all this stuff.

Yes I too have experienced this, I have a better rate however I have 3.5 Disks brand new (still sealed) my success rate overall is likely around 70% some worse then others, I had one box that all but ONE was bad :( Its getting harder and harder to find working anything.

That reminds me of the Apple II ad from way back in the 80s of the melted (and I mean melted) but working Apple ][

I watch floppy disks pretty closely on eBay. People have a hard time giving away 5.25" HD media - almost nothing is able to use them (who has a PC-AT any more?). The Apple II is certainly not capable of using them. No drive that is designed for DD media will work correctly with them. The situation is somewhat less black-and-white with 3.5" media, but not so with 5.25".
