Apple HD-20 (Non-SCSI)

Another TIL article about the Serial version of the HD-20 and the computers that can boot from it. Does anyone know about this? https://savagetaylor.com/TIL/TA40360.html. If bios supports the ability to "boot" from a HD-20 serial version, does that mean it is possible to boot from serial if you emulate that device? Not that it is really needed for the Plus onward, but might be interesting for the 512ke

---------------------------------------
With what Macintosh models can I use a serial HD-20?

Support of the serial HD-20s is not tied to System Software, but to the ROM
in the respective systems.

The following Macintosh models have support for the serial (non-SCSI) HD-20
built into ROM:
* Macintosh 512Ke
* Macintosh Plus
* Macintosh SE
* Macintosh Classic
* Macintosh IIci
* Macintosh Portable

The following Macintosh models do NOT have this support built in:
* Macintosh SE/30
* Macintosh II
* Macintosh IIx
* Macintosh IIcx
* Macintosh IIsi
* Macintosh IIfx
* Macintosh LC

For more information on the serial HD-20, see the article "Old HD20 and New
Mac SE/30".

Never mind, I realize now they were talking about the floppy drive port attached version, I thought for a moment there was a version that attached to the serial port like some of the early storage options did....
