I was excited when I won this on eBay. Described as "Mint in box" and "unused." I was doubly excited when I won it for only $50. I had put a minimum bid on it not expecting to win.
Anyway, I really wanted a color one for my Apple II, but I was thinking that if I got a nice monochrome one, I could swap out the CRT with an LCD TV. Coupled with the pivoting frame, it'd be perfect even with a cheap, crummy LCD panel because I could adjust the viewing angle for a good picture.
Then I got this in the mail. That's brown from cigarette tar, dirt, and grime. Oh boy does it reek. I had to put it out int he garage it smelled so bad. I'm trying to figure out this monitor could ever be construed as either "mint" or "unused." The CRT is completely dislodged, it's just sort of sitting inside the case with no restraint. There're bits of plastic rattling inside of it and occasionally fall out. Not to mention all the dirt, pen marks, and what looks like someone's lunch near the power button.
