Aldus Mac 512- Used At Aldus

Ive been waiting a week for this guy to come in. Someone emailed me about having a 400k drive and was going to take the system to Goodwill. Of course I was like no, and he let me have it for the cost of shipping.

So here is the story from the person I got it from- It came with Macintosh Pascal, a mint Apple Modem 1200, external 400k floppy, I had the Macintosh Bag to go with it.

Also came with System 3.2/Finder 5.3 from the Mac 512 User Group which has the system installer and the HD20 init on it.

" I found your posting in a last-ditch attempt to not have to take the system to Goodwill. The unit was acquired in non working condition from Aldus when I was working there. It has ID tag #101; the 512 with ID tag #103 is in pristine condition in a pelxiglas case at Adobe's office here in Seattle as the computer on which PageMaker was written (the actual story is more complex: they mostly used Apple Lisas with ProFile hard drives, I was told by someone who would know)."

The Apple Canvas bag is a nice accessory to have. I use mine daily for school work, and it's absolutely great considering its age (I just need to get the strap fixed).

Btw, did these bags come included with the computer when purchased new, or was it an add-on?

They were an addon- I managed to salvage as badly yellowed mac 512 from an electronics recycler, it was in the bag, I paid a whole 10 dollars for it, Just so I could have the bag. Then this mac 512k popped up, I already had one, but this one fits nicely in my collection of compact macs. Considering this was used on the development of Aldus Products.

I need a HD20 For it now.
