99 cents

I got myself an iMac G3 500 MHz 256MB RAM for 99 cents (AUD) from eBay. (eBay lot link, screenshot)

A bit dusty, but for just 99 cents, I shouldn't complain.

Good deal! I love it when you find a local pickup only auction that's actually close enough to justify buying; they always go for next to nothing. I like that the Pro keyboard and Mouse came with it too.

Really nice, i love the Imac G3, was my second conquest after my Mac Classic and the beginning of my collection.

Mine has 10.3.9 on it

If you want to run OS X, I'd suggest bumping up the RAM. It'll run in 256MB, but you will notice a huge improvement in performance with 384MB or more.

thanks for the advice. Most likely I will run OS 9 on it. Most likely it won't be switched on for most of the time (compared to other Mac). Not that I am cheap on power, but it's very hot here, and I have to be careful with heat generated from machines.

Slot loaders are very prone to heat-related death. Make sure you have the front foot extended to raise the bottom and allow cool air to enter. It fold out from the underside near the front. I would also advise raising the rear with a small block of wood - this made a significant difference to internal temps on mine, as it both improves the air intake from the bottom and raises the top vent closer to the top of the unit. It also helps with the viewing angle.
