9000 vs GEforce

I’ve got a MDD with the Ati 9000 Pro graphics card. I picked up a dead MDD with a nVidia GeForce 4 Ti. Is there any advantage of one over the other if I’m not into games?

Well it depends on which version of the GeForce 4 Ti you have. Whichever of your two cards has the best specs with give you better Desktop performance. (Quartz Extreme will be handled better.)

Man, it'd be nice to have one of those for my Sawtooth, too bad I'm low on funds or I'd make an offer.

Either one is fine for 2D work in OSX. I have a geforce 2MX (much slower in 3d then your GF4 TI) in a G4-1.25ghz and a 9000 in a G4-800 and they both seem to be snappy in OSX.

GeForce 4 Ti is better but not doing games you may not notice it. Perhaps try both and see what you like? Neither the GF4 or R9000 do Core Image but both do Quartz Extreme.
