I picked up a nice condition 8500 today. While I'm unsure of the specs since I'm in Minneapolis right now... what came with it was pretty freakin cool...

The guy was nice enough to throw in:

SCSI cables

ADB cables

serial cables

a new 2930 SCSI card

2 Apple Design II keyboards

and the following OS CDs, with disk tools on floppy

7.5

7.5.3

7.6

8.0

and 8.5

Pretty frreakin sweet haul for $0! :)

Just unbelievable. 8-o :'(

So much free stuff over there... and I paid freakin' 50 EUR for a PowerMac that *HOPEFULLY* is in the hands of the German Post right now. (I just kill those people if they take my money and don't send).

I can't stand that... I am totally in *wannahavewannahave* mode right now. Yea... I know... jealousy is a sin. :p

:beige:

I paid $500 for my first 8500. It blew it's PSU and Mobo when our power pole down the street got hit by lightning. Picked up another one from Orion for the price of shipping and a few bucks.

I love the 8500's. As much as I love the BeigeG3MT's I have more love for the 8500's. It was the first Mac I purchased with my own money.

Speaking of the land of 10,000 lakes I was checking up the craigslist there when I thought about driving out there to see relatives. Minn. and Wisconsin seem to have a bumper crop of old macs. Far more so than all of Chicago, Indiana, Ohio, Penn.… all the places I would have traveled through combined. Mabye they just use more of craigslist. Or mabye they are just more enlightened in the tao of mac.
