Mods - if you consider this post misplaced in the Conquests forum, my apologies, and feel free to move it to the Lounge or Compacts.

I've finally sourced an inexpensive LCD for compact Mac casemodding porpoises.

It's a Sharp LQ84S02-01A 8.4" 800x600 LCD - this one, to be precise. Preliminary Googling - and wading through the umpteen gazillion useless hits for "suppliers" who index every electronic part known to humankind* - indicates it is TTL rather than LVDS.

I've now written to several eBay suppliers of LCD driver boards to see if anyone can come up with a board to suit.

Still -w00t! Another step forward in the Intel Compact project.

BTW, the photo in the auction is a little deceptive - it appears to be 4:3 in real life, rather than 16:9

*if anyone can suggest a technique for weeding out these vermin from search results, please do. They've even colonised Usenet now!
