400K drive pressure pad missing

As per the title, I just picked up a faulty external 400k floppy drive that was being detected but ultimately wasn't reading or writing disks.

After I opened the drive I noticed the fault - the small felt pressure pad was missing, meaning the disk isn't making good contact with the head.

I know there is a replacement on ebay, but after shipping and import tax is taken into consideration it would cost about £40 just for a piece of felt.

Does anyone know where I could find one or if there is an alternative?

How thick does the felt need to be - can you link to the eBay one?

Look out for compressed or semi compressed felt from medical suppliers - it usually comes in 5, 7, 10mm thicknesses.  I use this day in day out for work and never thought it had alternate uses :)

If only the felt is missing, not a big issue you can make your own from a similar material.

The problem is when the felt support is missing as well.

Have repaired  quite a few.
