Floppy Disk Not Going In All the Way?

No, they seem to be stuck in pretty well... hm....

Floppy Disk Not Going In All the Way?

    Analog cables? The monitor's cables?

Floppy Disk Not Going In All the Way?

Screen still doesn't seem to be working. I don't think I soldered the new FT in well though so could it be that?

Floppy Disk Not Going In All the Way?

No, the ones connecting the chassis of the case to the board. I got two off but the rest seem stuck. I'll have to try with a better screwdriver, or buy an external drive and the Rominator and ignore the internal drive altogether.

Floppy Disk Not Going In All the Way?

The screws on the board seem hard to remove - there is metal or something between them and the clip- am I meant to use a special screwdriver or something?

Floppy Disk Not Going In All the Way?

How do you remove the screws attached to the chassis? Do you need to remove the chassis first? If the ROM is replaced can it use the 800k external drives and read/write both sides?

Floppy Disk Not Going In All the Way?

How do you remove the floppy drive from its housing/the Mac's housing to clean it? Also is it possible to essentially turn it into a 512Ke?

So I removed the anode cap. Strangely no sparks or anything, came off pretty easy too.

Floppy Disk Not Going In All the Way?

Where could I buy a flyback transformer?

Floppy Disk Not Going In All the Way?

Could I simply remove another 9 pin port and solder it on? Either way good to know, thanks

Floppy Disk Not Going In All the Way?

In terms of the mouse port, is it fixable? Only the 9 pin connector is gone. The chip etc, are still there.

Floppy Disk Not Going In All the Way?

By the way, how would I fix the mouse port? The connector between the chip (?) and the mouse is gone. Would it be safe to remove a 9pin connector from another port and simply attach it to where the mouse port should be?

Floppy Disk Not Going In All the Way?

Ah.... I really have bad luck with electronics... Still, I think it is only the transformer. Rest of it seems fine. My own fault as I tried to use a 3 Amp fuse instead of 2.5Amp. Either way I'll have to get around to it at some point, thanks :D

Floppy Disk Not Going In All the Way?

How would I fix the whining and no display issues?

Floppy Disk Not Going In All the Way?

The disk seems to basically go as far as the guard then get stuck. The Mac's display seems to have gone again  :( it now just makes a high-pitched whine.

Floppy Disk Not Going In All the Way?

So I changed the 512k Mac's fuse and it is working but the disk will not fully enter the drive and gets stuck. How would I fix this?

    512k Mac Power Cable?

By the way, how the heck would I fix this back part? Whoever had it last decided to remove the mouse port...

    512k Mac Power Cable?

If the fuse isn't the problem then is it just broken? I haven't checked it yet but if that is the case would it be repairable?
  19. V

    512k Mac Power Cable?

So looks like the converter thingamajig wasn't the problem. Will try and check if the fuse in the Mac is fine etc. Also, the kettle lead from the Mac doesn't seem to fit all the way in, it seems to slightly hang out. Could the power cable be the problem?

    512k Mac Power Cable?

Luckily it didn't come with a PRAM battery. Battery compartment seems pretty clean too. Unfortunately I don't have a Multimeter. I think that the transformer is broken though as no other applications would work with it either. Thanks  :beige: I'll try it if changing the converter won't work...
