    Yeah they look like platinum, one is slightly yellowed. Also, one of them I sometimes need to smack a couple of times to get the crt on. Any ideas what the problem is? Just a loose connection?

    Turning off 512k Mac

    My 512k is running system 1.1 so it doesn't have any shut off options in the software. Does it do damage to the computer over time just turning it off with the switch on the back?

    First post and vintage pickup.

    I just picked up this 512k off ebay. Before this the oldest mac I had was a Quicksilver so I am quite new to the pre OS X macs.
