Problems with Quadra 610 ; Dead Board and Unusual PSU

I didn't notice you posted this until now, but I appreciate the help with tracking down the cap values! Unfortunately, I will have to come back around to recapping my Quadra 610's PSU later, as the board suffered a lot of leakage damage, and it's possible I lost the PCB itself and the IOSB...

Macintosh LC II: Power Supply Connector and Video Troubles

I know I am giving you this update kind of late, but I did a while ago try the different dip switch settings on my video adapter, and it made zero difference on any of my monitors, where it was detected, but nothing would sync to it. However, I would like to ask based on your pictures, what...

Macintosh LC II: Power Supply Connector and Video Troubles

The gendering is not always what you think it is. I had it backwards haha. It makes more sense that way anyway. Actually, I tried this while I was waiting on your reply! Since the LC II uses a weird 7 Pin connector which is not made, I was able to find this 4 pin and this 3 pin to compensate...

Macintosh LC II: Power Supply Connector and Video Troubles

This helps me a lot! Being in the US, I will need to find an alternative to this generic tool that ships here, but this gives me a good idea of what I am looking for. I still think though the best thing to do might be to get a KK396 pre-terminated male to male cable, cutting one of the ends off...

Macintosh LC II: Power Supply Connector and Video Troubles

No, I wasn't using an LC series supply. It was an old AT class PC supply I will definitely try the different settings on the video adapter though. I already tried basically every setting on the adapter initially, but I will try again with that configuration and a different monitor.

Macintosh LC II: Power Supply Connector and Video Troubles

I am posting this because I want a definitive answer to 2 questions if anyone might be able to help me; 1: I recently was able to get my LC II’s board to chime and boot, but the trouble is the video adapter I am using does not give me any picture on any monitor I have tried, and while my...

Problems with Quadra 610 ; Dead Board and Unusual PSU

I did actually do this, but the board is still dead. However, I discovered that some of the chip legs of the IOSB have completely wrecked pads, and what I wonder is, what kind of bodge wire would be good to bridge chip legs and traces that are that puny?

Problems with Quadra 610 ; Dead Board and Unusual PSU

Actually, I was doing some more inspection of my board recently, and I determined that my problem is some of the connections on the IOSB, however, what kind of bodge wire do you think I would need to buy that would be small enough to make bridges between the legs of the chip and the traces...

IIci shutdown issue (It is now safe to switch off... message)

It's interesting this thread got updated. I had this exact problem with my iici, but my terrible patience causing me to wreck the solder pads on the mobo for the soft power chips. I think I will pick up my iici again when I have a hot air station so I can work with SMD stuff more easily, and I...

Problems with Quadra 610 ; Dead Board and Unusual PSU

I already tried this and it made no change. I even tried plugging the machine into a monitor in case the caps were taking away the sound, and there was no activity from what I could tell. I might try another monitor while I wait on my Mobo cap kit though just to be sure it's not a cursed Sync on...

Problems with Quadra 610 ; Dead Board and Unusual PSU

As for the logic board, the reason I was pretty sure I would at least hear a chime without the caps is because I believe with my Macintosh iici, the board would at least try to work without them, but to be frank, this could be poor memory. I think I will just recap it first and see where that...

Problems with Quadra 610 ; Dead Board and Unusual PSU

I have a Quadra 610 that I recently acquired, and while getting the case cleaned up and ready to go has been fine, for whatever reason, the board is being problematic. While the Power Supply does need to be recapped, (which I will get to momentarily), it seems to put out healthy voltages, and...

I know I am super late to this, but could you link me the file to this? I am thinking about putting my iici on a new PCB because the cap leakage on it is pretty bad and some important pads on it for soft power ripped off on me a while back.

Releasing AirTalk: Wireless plug-and-play LocalTalk dongle

Hello again, Daan That makes sense. I might consider the Pro, but I am still baffled by one thing. Why does the Airtalk have 2 ADB ports? Is it a pass through? And also, can the original Airtalk be powered with ADB and if it cannot, why are there 2 ADB ports on it? I'm not trying to bother...

Introducing (and interest check) AirTalk: Wireless plug-and-play LocalTalk dongles

Printing with the Airtalk seems cool, but the only vintage Apple Printer I have is a Color StyleWriter 2500 and the only Ink Cartridge I have for it is super old and dried up. Haha.

Releasing AirTalk: Wireless plug-and-play LocalTalk dongle

It's really awesome this has a webpage finally. I live in America, but this still makes it significantly easier to order! Also, what's the difference between the Airtalk and the Airtalk Pro? Does the Pro simply have a black PCB and an improved case or does it actually have better hardware...

Introducing (and interest check) AirTalk: Wireless plug-and-play LocalTalk dongles

I am interested in getting this to use with my Macintosh SE for quickly copying files over from my modern PC! I recently got an internal BlueSCSI for it, but I have no convenient way of moving files to it and ZIP disks seem to be flaky and clunky at absolute best. How can I get one of these...
