    restoring a battery-bombed IIcx

I think the list of tasks you provided is a really good template for a lot of bombed Macs. (Obviously, it's not an exhaustive list but still quite thorough and has a lot of good things to try.) I'm going to keep a copy of that saved. Also been a huge fan of your products for many years now...

    restoring a battery-bombed IIcx

My SE/30 project still isn't quite finished but I couldn't handle cap resoldering myself and got some assistance from someone local who did it inexpensively. Would rather spend the money to have it done correctly than attempt it myself at this point in my life. But if I had more time and a nicer...

    Mac SE/30 - $125

Once I get the SE/30 recapped from your buddy that will be my main machine and I’ll use a BlueSCSI or a zuluscsc Yeah no problem. The hard drive is dead from what I can tell so I’ll just be using a bluescsi or zuluscsi for the se/30 (preferably something internal) and then once the SEs are...

    Mac SE/30 - $125

Oh I just bought a second one…. Like a couple hours ago. You can have it for free. You want the red one that came with the SE/30 or one of the ones from the SE?

    Mac SE/30 - $125

I have Version 1.1a which requires the STSLink device (which I may have in storage) so I will need to make do with transferring files to the sd card directly. I have access to vmac and Sheepshaver but it doesn't appear that they are able to see the mounted sd card. This is all quite new...

    Mac SE/30 - $125

I'm familiar with vmac but I haven't transferred files back and forth with an sd card but I suppose this could be a good first attempt.

    Mac SE/30 - $125

Do you think I could add the .sit file to the BlueSCSI and install it? (I might need stuffit expander too)

    Mac SE/30 - $125

Also found a sticker on the bottom of the case. (The seller wasn't named John nor do I live in California)

    Mac SE/30 - $125

I had a feeling the seller did some upgrades to it, or maybe the owner before him did some kind of upgrades. I wasn't sure if that red HDD chassis was stock, but if I compare it to my SE's it didn't seem like it. Looks like the HDD may be dead (X symbol) so I booted off the BlueSCSI again to...

    Mac SE/30 - $125

Thanks. He already had a second offer pending after I called him and arranged the meet.

    Mac SE/30 - $125

It was a bit of a drive to pick up the machine, but thanks to @volvo242gt for letting me know about this machine's existence. Had been looking on and off for an SE/30 and I figured it was time to take the plunge... and I figured $125 wasn't a bad price (whether or not the logic board was toast)...

Building an internal grayscale card for the SE/30

I believe I would be served divorce papers... If I can eventually 'trade up' one (or both) of my SEs for an SE/30 then I would be interested in getting it all decked out with purple. But the simplicity of the SE (and less leaky caps) has its own charms too.

I built a ChatGPT client for Mac OS 9

Yes, I'm quite interested in how the program was built as I'd like to try my hand at programming something for OS 7-9.

What I've received as of late...

The only thing I almost purchased when I visited was a broken (caps needed replaced) video card expansion board

I built a ChatGPT client for Mac OS 9

Oh, I doubt it’s anything with the software. I think I need to adjust my settings between OS 9 and the router so they work together. I thought setting up a static IP would resolve the issue but apparently not.

Having some difficulty with my aircard at the moment, but I'll try again soon using an ethernet cable. Looks promising!

    Two SEs & Accessories - $300

That seems like quite an honor, having it named after an Apple engineer. "After joining Apple, Bailey consolidated the six Programmable Array Logic (PAL) chips of earlier compact Macs down to two for the Macintosh SE, which was released in 1987. Bailey's custom chip designs were manufactured...

I am sorry for my ignorance but I don't know what the BBU function is .... at first glance it appears that could you could insert it incorrectly though.

    Two SEs & Accessories - $300

Yes, it has four sticks of 256k. I have included four close-up images of the BBU socket (rotating the board as I go). I don't have a magnifying tool to assist me but it looks to be okay. Maybe. Please let me know if you see anything out of place...

    Two SEs & Accessories - $300

Repair attempt #1 failed. But I must say I think it looks a little nicer (not that it means anything if it doesn't work). Been using a plastic spudger tool with a pointy end to carefully move the pins around.
