Hi All,
A month or so ago I was lucky enough to purchase one of zigzagjoe's 30Video Internal Greyscale bundles for my SE/30.
I just wanted to write about my experience and share some pics.
First off, my SE/30 that will be getting the 30Video treatment:
Stored in a barn for decades until I...
Cheers!
The sound deadening foam on the underside of the lid is like new.
Not flaking or degraded at all.
I think this printer must have been someone's personal unit and actually cared for, unlike a lot of the public school surplus units that I've seen.
🤞
I'll defiantly keep an eye on it...
If you want the box and Styrofoam inserts, I'll hang onto them.
I'll also keep the boxes for the serial cable, extra ribbon, etc.. if you want them.
I'll take some close up pics of the box from all sides and you can deice if it's worth it for you.
It's not mint, but its not falling apart for...
Howdy Everyone,
I've been looking, on and off, for an ImageWriter II for years.
I'd found that, at least here in Canada, they have been a little harder to find in decent shape and for a fair price for some odd reason.
Since my elementary school days in the 80s, spewing out ream after ream of...
Nice :)
I recapped my old yellow GB Colour a few months ago, works great!
Also replaced all the coin cell batteries in each of my carts that had one.
The kids love playing on it. Dad can still school them in Tetris... ;) for now... lol
@finkmac haha, tie-wraps work wonders. :)
@nathall - That's awesome, was is it MAC based or another platform? I ran a DOS based BBS in in the early to mid 90s running RemoteAccess. Focused mainly around L.O.R.D. and B.R.E. and S.R.E. games as well as being one of the main Demoscene couriers...
Oops,
I forgot to post my Telnet address info.
If you want to connect with Black Knight or another terminal program, connect here:
Telnet: bbs.dsbbs.ca
Port: 23
:)
:)
Most BBSes now days are accessible over the internet using Telnet or SSH (there are still some dial ups).
Here's a great listing/guide to currently active BBSes: www.telnetbbsguide.com
You can get on my board (still running RemoteAccess for MS-DOS like its' 1994!) using a browser here...
Hi Everyone,
I purchased one of ZigZagJoe's Booster 2.0 PDS cards for my SE/30 and just finished installing it.
I thought I'd share my experience and how it works with a real DaynaPort PDS Ethernet card.
My SE/30 specs (pre-Booster 2.0)...
Totally recapped.
- Power supply (SONY)
-...
And here she is, all put back together and running System 7.5.5
8MB of RAM, using a 6MB funky purple memory expansion module
Hinge support completely replaced with 3D printed support
Dead HDD replaced with a BlueSCSI v2
DaynaPort Ethernet (WiFi) courtesy of the BlueSCSI v2 (FTP for files and...
Here's a link to JDW's recap video.
The description includes a link to a mouse cart with all the required caps in it. :)
Macintosh SE & SE/30 Analog Board Recapping Walkthrough
I've ordered the components in this cart 3 times now and never had any issue. Works great!
Also, there's a mouser...
..:: Resurrecting this old thread since I see this question asked all over other forums, and I just experienced the issue myself ::..
Cheers Jake for the detailed repair notes!
I had the exact same problem with an SE I recently picked up.
Recapped the power supply and analog board, but the...
Hi Beachycove.
I'm using MpegDEC for the MP3 stream.
I've attached a video of my CC Mystic loading MpegDEC, then playing the 64K/sec from Nectarine, Demoscene Radio.
It's a 64K/sec stream, but on the internal speaker it sounds just fine. :)
The file I drag into the player is a text file with...
My 68K compact machines have PDS network cards.
I use the connection mostly for transferring files from my Synology NAS via FTP (easier than popping out the SD card from the ZuluSCSI). :)
I have our printer (an Oki laser) shared with them. Works great as a LaserWriter LPR printer. :)
SSHeven is...
Cheers Powerbook27364,
I appreciate the links to the battery articles!
I ended up buying a general multi-select voltage power supply (set it to 7.5vDC @ 3A max) on Amazon.
Works no problem with my PB140.
I'll probably use it until I can pick up a real Apple supply and fix that up someday.
I...
Hi Everyone,
A friend who knows I enjoy restoring vintage machines recently gave me her dead PowerBook 140 that had been stored and forgotten about in the back of her closet for decades.
It is in excellent cosmetic condition for a 33 year old laptop!
The fun begins...
I could hear tiny bits of...
