I wanted one of these so bad as a kid, My Dad searched his whole building and every network closet he could get access to to see if he could get a middle school me a glimpse.

I Have the 600 from the documentation they suggest if your using it with a soft power machine to use it to turn your printer/scanner/external HD. you can even run scripts have it start from a phone ring, auto start after power failure, etc.
If memory serves me the schematics are from when the original company sold a kit for making it on your own before Farallon bought them and their new design that they then released under the Farallon brand.
Great work on the drive! Since you can boot from floppies you can create a floppy using Gamba's SuperBooter and it has a CD-ROM driver it may let at least use the drive to install the System from the drive if you can't get it to boot from the CD. The Floppy disk image is at The Repository and...
For the floppy drive it may need a good cleaning. There are lots of videos on how to clean, you could also give a floppy drive cleaning disk a try first. They are easiest found on ebay and might still be available on amazon.
For a long time I used both my 1.42 MDD and a Intel Mini in a similar setup. I found some software I can't remember the name that allowed me to use my keyboard and mouse across both systems it worked really well from what I remember. I thought I was super cool with that setup.😎🤓

I recently did on my 540c, I wouldn't recommend what I used as it was quite thin which isn't much help for a first timer if you wanted to pull off and reapply it would be impossible without tearing. It probably would have been fine if it wasn't as sticky as it was even with using soapy water...
Some people are doing this now with vintage software for fun this month. Ive started looking into the software and hopefully will have something connected before they're done. Check out this link:

BBraun also had a server in the past with a special extension...
More often than not in my own experience its almost always a bad solder joint. The worst mistake I've done that killed a device I recapped was installing the cap backwards and it killed a irreplaceable part.
Thought I would share what I found a mention in a magazine of an AppleTalk enabled version of MacPalette II. I then got in contact with Microspot (the developer) the sales rep that I talked to couldn't find any digital copies to send me but spoke with some one else in the company and they said...
