Dual boot is incredibly easy, it's not even funny. Your best bet for playing modern stuff is an older version of VLC that will run on early OS X (like 10.4).

One simple answer for the controller: get a Gravis GamePad Pro. Great for the era of machine. Tons on eBay. If I were you, I'd stick with the 1 GHz if you really want to run OS 9 natively. 1.25 isn't going to get you much more.

This is…absolutely one of the greatest things I’ve seen in years. My kids constantly ask me why a game won’t work (e.g. screen isn’t set for 256 colors, everything is “small” because the resolution isn’t 640x480), so this is absolutely amazing! Hopefully this will work on my PT Pro with G3 card!
