I dug up my PB150, but it completely refuses to boot. The battery died so long ago it's not funny, but I have the big brick ac adapter.
I've hit the switch on the back (reset?), tried it with the battery in and out, and let it sit for a while. Nothing. Is it just a paperweight now? :'(
The idiot being me, of course :p
I have a 2100 sitting around, and the battery is just about toast. I'd like to get my hands on the AA battery tray, but Newton bits & pieces are very hard to come by in Japan now. Is it possible to rebuild the battery pack? How? How hard is it?
I've had a core solo Mini sitting around for a while, it's split between OS X & XP. I'd like to erase the OS X part and put Ubuntu on it instead. Is this possible? I've Googled instructions but they look a little daunting (yes, I have Linux experience.) Is it as difficult as it seems?
My 12" PB is on the fritz again. The optical drive died a while back and I was able to use FWTDM to reinstall, etc, etc.
I just got the flashing ? again now, but I can't reinstall because FWTDM is not working. When I restart holding down T all I get is a blank screen. How can I get around this...
... where you follow the woman diver underwater? Anyone know the name and where I can find a copy? Tomorrow's going to be another rainy day and I thought I'd take a little trip down memory lane if possible :b&w: :b&w:
So my G3 800 iBook's logic board bought the farm the other day. This is the second one it's had, too. Of course Apple's repair program has long ended, so now I have a scratched, white paper weight [:(!] !]'> I was quoted $420 to have the stupid thing repaired [:(!] !]'>
I pulled the...

Wish I had an Apple II ... :-/
I breaked my B&W last nite ::)
I have Tiger Server installed on it which runs totally fine. I wanted to run OS 9 on it so I copied over the OS 9 System Folder and Applications folder from my G5 and restarted (in hindsight, prolly' not the smartest thing to do.)
Now all I get is a gray...
I went to start up my Classic II last nite and it came up with a checkerboard pattern on the screen. A bit of Googling and it looks as though it's a hardware problem, which means I'm screwed > :( Even if I could even find some long torq screw drivers, a set would probably cost me $40 over...

This poor fellow's Classic II squeaks! Any ideas on what it could be? He's asking for help ... :?:
Got a call from work asking if I wanted some PowerBook 190s. They came with AC adapters (one's dead.) One 190 works fine, the other has a dead display? Nothing shows up, but it chimes and disk seems to work fine.
They gave me one a year ago so that makes three [:)] ]'> What to do with them?
I've got an overclocked B&W G3 I was given a while back. I use it as a server, but since it's on almost 24/7 my electricity bill has gone up. I'd like to return it to the stock 300Mhz (it's at 400Mhz now.)
There are overclocking instructions here: http://lowendmac.com/macdan/02/0710ek.html...
I was just trying to install some new RAM and now I've completely b0rked everything up.
I have a G5 1.6ghz that originally had 768 ram: 2 128 sticks and 2 256 sticks. I bought 2 1gig sticks of 333 MHz PC2700 DDR SDRAM and put them in. When I try to boot I get no chime and the power light just...
I'm on my TiBook right now, OS X 10.4.9. How do I got about using the IRdA port on the back? I'd like to see if I can beam things back and forth my Zaurus for example :?:
