iMmaculate iMac Late 2011 21.5"... With a HUGE problem!

If you have access to s programmer and the appropriate soldering tools it is fairly trivial to dump the flash, patch out the password and flash it back. I’m not aware of any way to do it without soldering though

    LCIII EPROM?

It's from a very uncompleted schematic I was drawing form my repro PCB, I got about half way through then got distracted and never got back to it, one day I'll get around to completing it.....

    LCIII EPROM?

That connector is actually +12V, A22 and /WR on the SCSI/SCC I had always wondered with that connector was for, I guess a ISP rom makes sense! On annother side note, U25 appears to be a footprint for a 27C512 type eprom, I have always wondered what that was there for but I haven't ever seen a...

Pins are 12.7mm in length (Which is the lengh of the pin above the plastic part) specifically they are these ones https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/pcb-headers/2518351 Could have been form my bench too there's far more random SMD components floating around n there than there really should be so it...

Repair of a basket case DiimoCache030

You have far more dedication than me, I would have said "screw it" and asked Bolle for a new PCB about half a hour in! That gives me PTSD from my ThunderCache experiments. I still can't get my original card working with all the original parts let alone my clones..... Both are now one the...

    Macintosh LC schematic

Good spot! Positive on C10 should be connected to pin 6 on UB10 (along with R83 and C103) but not R82. I had it connected to the wrong side of R83/C103 (which connects to pin 5 and R82). Have corrected this :) I will also say that the apple schematics are now floating around which should...

    Recreateing the Apple TechStep

I have the parts to assemble 3 or 4 more, just haven't had the time recently to actually assemble them Will update here and on the for sale thread when they are ready. (A couple of people have already PM'd me over the last few months so they'll have first dibs when they are ready)

    Macintosh IIci Logicboard recreation

The PCB's are £45 and shipping to the US for a single boar is £16.75 The boards come with all the birdseed on the bottom side populated (bar the two transient suppression diodes under the ADB ports) so you just need to move the topside components over

    Macintosh IIci Logicboard recreation

Indeed it is, just two signal layers on the outside and then power / ground on the inner two

I do still have a couple of PCB's left, or the designs are on github and you can order them from whoever your favourite PCB manufacturer is

    Speed-O-Meter crashing

My experience with speedometer is that is it very crash happy on faster macs From my testing it tends to be fine on 68020's and slower 68030's, then tends to crash on exit (locking the machine up) on faster 68030's and then is mostly fine on 68040's with just the occasional crash. I haven't...

ITXPlus: A ITX Sized Macintosh Plus Logicboard Reproduction

Port PCB's arrived (which I totally hadn't forgotten to order....) and the board has been fully tested and works just fine :) I guess now I need to tidy up the schematic, after all I did leave this note in it :ROFLMAO:

ITXPlus: A ITX Sized Macintosh Plus Logicboard Reproduction

Just a short late night post: V1.1 boards have arrived and passed a basic power on test with no bodges :) Only problem I had was nothing to do with the board, I brought a bunch of NOS DRAM IC's and about 1/3 of them seem to be bad. Had me hunting for assembly issues for a while before I just...

    Reverse-engineered Classic II

Very nicely done! I guess now I have no excuse for relegating that pile of CII boards to donor status :) On you comment on github of not knowing the ASIC pinouts, have a look at the LC II schematic: https://www.macdat.net/files/pdf/apple/schematics/apple/lc_ii.pdf As the pinouts for the main...

ITXPlus: A ITX Sized Macintosh Plus Logicboard Reproduction

As far as I am aware no one makes FPM (or EDO) ram new so it's NOS or reclaimed - it's one of the reasons I went with 1Mx4's to begin with, it's very easy to find simms that the chips can be "borrowed" from

😅 I was only slightly doubting my own maths there :) Off the top of my head I think it's about 2/3rds the size in both dimensions but I'll double check that later
