    I finally own a MP 2100

I have used Courier with some success on a 2100 (pictures to come in another thread). Newtscape has also been recommended. http://www.40hz.org/Courier/

    Newton 2100 on the web

Speed is not too bad actually. I was expecting it to be terrible. Rendering is OK - didn't go to many pages apart from Google etc. I think it must automatically ignore most images. I will try a few more pages (and maybe try posting here from it) soon and post some pictures.

    Newton 2100 on the web

I found this link quite useful (it is what I followed). Sites like UNNA (for software) and NewtonTalk (mailing list) are also good. There is quite a wealth of information out there. Cheers [:)] ]'>

    Newton 2100 on the web

I finally got my Newton 2100 on the web (using a 3Com 3C589D Ethernet card). I have installed Courier and it works well - what browsers do other people use and/or recommend? Cheers [:)] ]'>

    eMate 300

I have an eMate 300 - found it quite impressive. Despite being a Newton they are not small at all. Having a serial connection that doesn't need an easily lost or broken adapter is also an advantage. I believe you can repack the batteries if they are dead as well.

    Newton eMate 300

After a few attempts I have managed to pick up an eMate of eBay. It comes complete with power supply, teachers guide and graphing calculator handbook (the photo also shows a stylus which is handy). I have always wanted to get one of these and this one should arrive before I get home from site...

    USB Serial Adapters

Bit of an update... Just secured on eBay a working 3Com 3C589D PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter. I already have one of these (with a busted up dongle) and this one comes with 2 working dongles so with any luck I will end up with 2 working setups. According to this page these cards should work with my...

    USB Serial Adapters

Hi All, In my ongoing mission to get my Newton 2100 talking to my PowerBook G4 (running 10.4 no Classic), I purchased a second-hand Belkin USB Serial Adapter (F5U114-MAC). It is the one with two DIN-8 ports. Now it appears Belkin have 8.6 and 9.x drivers, does anyone know if they have OS X...

    G3 upgrade card

G'day, Hope this is the right section to post this.... I have just bought a PowerForce (PowerLogix) G3 350/175/512K "SPARTAN" upgrade card and was wondering if there is any performance difference between running it in a 7500 or a 7600? Also, what settings would people recommend? Looking at...

    Suggestion for a New Subforum

I am in favour of this. I found Steve Wozniak's autobiography an interesting read. I also have a fairly extensive Mac magazine collection if anyone wants to borrow any issues (a few date back to 1985) - I am in Perth, WA.

    QuickTake ramblings

I also have a QuickTake 100. Came in original box and with most of the documentation. Does anyone know if you can use a QT100 as a computer controlled camera? What I would like to do is take a picture every few minutes and save it to the hard disk.
