Got my PB540c to go wireless!

Great effort - the 540c is a cool machine. Can't help with the RAM unfortunately, all my 5xx PowerBooks are stuck at 12MB as well...

    She's Dead Jim.

iMac600, I am in Perth and have a few options for you: 1) Toshiba 400CS laptop (PI 75 MHz, 40 MB RAM, 800MB HDD, FDD, CD-ROM), you would probably want to run Win98 on it (maybe NT); 2) "Parts" of a PowerBook G3 333MHz - let me know what parts you need (I have no idea if they will be...

I saw this too and was tempted - good luck with the auction!

    Thinking of getting a 1xx

To use it in SCSI disk mode you will need a HDI-30 to 25pin centronics style adapter (or an adapter plus cable). Let me know if you want a picture - I have a few of these. Most of the 1xx PowerBooks are cool - the 190 is good as you can "borrow" a fair few parts from the 5300 (IR and external...

    Java development on a 68k

Symantec Cafe definitely works on a 68K, I did first year Uni in 1998 on an LC630 using it. No idea where to find it though. From memory the LC630s had 36MB of RAM. I have a few old versions of CodeWarrior but I think the Java part always required a PowerPC... (at least for the versions I have).

    OS 7.5 - Rename HD

Select the hard disk icon on the Desktop and click CMD-I (Get Info). Is it locked? Other than that I can't think of anything that would prevent you from editing the name... [:)] ]'>

    OS 7.5 - Rename HD

Try turning off AppleTalk or file sharing (can't remember what it is called under 7.5). Then click the hard drive name on the Desktop and start typing... [:)] ]'>

    Old Sun/Digital Gear

I know it's not Apple but, I picked a fair bit of old Sun/Digital gear up from eBay (for $40 Australian): - AXIL 320 (Sun SS20 clone) with separate removable and fixed storage (and it's on wheels!); - DecStation 5000/125 (looks complete); - DecStation 5000/200 (may be missing stuff); -...

    accounts deleted?

I believe that the server crashed, backups were lost and the forum was reborn (others feel free to jump in and correct this if I am wrong). Hence you (and everyone else a few months back) had to recreate your account. Anyhow, welcome back! [:)] ]'>

    Apple Microphones

Thanks for the feedback - I have both shapes but two colours in the "boring" one - beige and gray. I will have to post some pics...

    Apple Microphones

Going through the collection last night and discovered I have 7 Apple microphones (including two that are new in box). It seems there are three different types - does anyone know how many types Apple made? I am planning to photograph them tonight.

    PowerMac 9500/132

Picked up a PowerMac 9500/132 for free in the Quokka (local free for sale paper). Power supply was dead but the machine was loaded! Had more than 300MB of RAM (3 x 64MB chips plus many others), a fairly new 18GB IBM SCSI hard drive (50 pin), a Sony CD-RW drive, two Mac compatible PCI graphics...

    The first thread

I have mucked around with NetBSD 68k a bit - got a IIci and a Centris 650 working (not using latest NetBSD though). I have used MkLinux on a PowerBook 1400. I also got MkLinux booting on a Performa 5400 off a 250MB Zip disk (it ran a few times anyway).

    I finally own a MP 2100

Congrats - sounds cool. Does Newtscape allow you to type the URL in using an on-screen keyboard or does it require you to "write" it (like Courier seems to)? Where did you get Newtscape from and did you find any docs on how to install it? Cheers!

    Attention! Mac II on ebay!

Don't think the FDHD kit would - I have three Mac IIs at home and from memory they all have it? (I will have to check this)
