Analog board not behaving but making a lovely test pattern

Odds are. With the Mac powered off and unplugged, measure that potentiometer with a multimeter, it should show some high resistance

Analog board not behaving but making a lovely test pattern

iirc there's a potentiometer/variable resistor on the board that you can turn up with a screwdriver (be careful, high voltages nearby). Just turn that and probe the voltages while you do so until you hear the beep

What to do when your Power Mac boots to a “forbidden” symbol

But the graphics card is probably also going considering it's repeating across the screen

    Macintosh 68060 Redux

So I wonder if something similar could be done with Mac ROMs

What to do when your Power Mac boots to a “forbidden” symbol

Yeah your graphics card in your MDD is probably dying. Some graphics cards die in such a way where a monitor still recognizes the signal as valid, but it doesn't look right to you and me. I'd try swapping it out if you can

    Macintosh 68060 Redux

620/630 roms probably also have FPU presence detection as well, as TattleTech apparently thinks the computer is a Quadra if a non-LC 040 is used

    Macintosh 68060 Redux

In your face, miggy nerds! Would be cool to see something like this be available for all non-PowerBook 68040 Macs, though I think that is a rather lofty goal

Agreed, it is my dream Macintosh

    LC475 Recap

avoid cheap chinese brands. When I recapped my LC III, I used all tantalum capacitors for the logic board by Vishay Sprague, but electrolytics should work fine too. Also, don't forget to recap the power supply, use only electrolytics for the power supply. I had to have mine finished and fixed by...

Who can repair motherboards for my Performa 460 - Recap & pad repair

I have too, cannot recommend him enough as he saved my LC III from a botched recapping job by yours truly and he does amazing recaps and repairs

Concept: MacintoshX - Game like its 1991, compute like its 1986!

maybe this project could help pave the way in figuring out how the two halves of the TeraDrive interact?
