KURB's World - Vintage Macs, PCs and more

A tip that I have is don't take one of these compacts apart without a magnetic tipped screwdriver. No matter what I did I could not get the inner screw back in the hole when mounting the harddrive back on top of the disk drive I had to leave it out for later. So annoying impossible to get your...

Thanks for the tip. I was aware of the fragility of the necks on these. The glass looks pretty damn thin. I've taken apart a good amount of CRT tvs in the past and have done minor solder repairs. I hope to take that to the next level soon..

To answer one of my above questions, I realize now the logic board kind of swings open like a door a bit allowing you to easily disconnect and connect the speaker wire. Also to change the battery lol so no need to take all the drives out!

Going to break down the 3 SEs today and take the batteries out. This is my first time taking apart an SE I had a minor hiccup. I kind of breezed through a youtube video of a breakdown and it didnt show the removal of the wires off the logic board so i just did it myself as i figured it was...

Thanks for the info. I did some research myself on it, looks like it was used in conjunction with a tall long monitor the shape of a sheet of paper thus the full page. For graphics design and word processing, like you mentioned. Pretty cool stuff

Heres the M0001. I have to say its in alot better shape than i thought it was. Its literally mint cosmetically. Even the piece of white cardboard on the back of the board looks new still lol. I'll look into it later, or perhaps someone else could do it if i mailed it to them. If its important enough. So I have 5 power mac 7xxxs to go through still, anything decent to find in them possibly? Then the 3 duo docks, what should I do with those as far as preservation, do they have...
