    Printing with non-Apple dot-matrix printers

Macs do not have a parallel interface. There were serial to parallel adapters made and sold with drivers for a variety of popular parallel printers, but they're gotta be tough to come by anymore. You may be able to find a serial printer with available mac drivers; I couldn't name any. Edit: I...

Inserting Floppy Disk into LC II

I wonder if maybe the auto-inject drive got replaced with a later non-inject variety. I guess cleaning is still the first step.

PM 8100 PRAM battery replacement how to?

You have to remove the logic board on the 8100 in order to do virtually anything.  Giant pain in the neck, that case. Almost surprised you don't have to remove the logic board to boot up. Be careful removing the power/reset button thingy (if I'm remembering right).  It was breakable twenty...

    Duo 210 compatibility

Nope, looks like the duo 210 uses a scsi hard drive. http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powerbook_duo/specs/mac_powerbook_duo210.html

Best way to get rid of degraded sticky feet?

Local hardware store has little rubber/vinyl bumpers/feet that just stick on and look ok. Various online electronics sources (as in capacitors and resisters, not tvs and sound systems) have a larger selection of sizes and colors.

    Plus with HDD

Yep; this was clearly just a tool for someone, not a statement or conspicuous consumption. Also smart that they drilled extra ventilation holes.  I wonder if they also installed a fan in there, or upgraded the power supply.

    Plus with HDD

Looks like a 128/512k upgraded to a plus, then (clumsily) fitted with an internal hard drive.  Pretty ugly, but I understand the impulse from somebody back in 1987 or whenever.  I'd be interested to see the inside.

    iMac G3 System Drive Upgrade

I was hesitant to reply since I don't know for sure, but since nobody has chimed in I'll toss in my two cents worth. It's my understanding that 9.2.2 was mostly optimizing 9 for use in classic mode under OS X, with perhaps support for newer machines thrown in.

    LC 475

68030 in the LCIII vs 68040 (actually 68LC040) in the 475,  both at 25 MHz. The 475 can take up to 132mb vs 36mb in the III. Nice score; I was super fond of the 475 when it came out and have been looking for a nice one.

Is the 800/840 really that bad to work on?

I remember speaking with an Apple engineer back when the 800/840 were more or less current, and complaining about the difficulty in servicing those machines.  The engineer looked chagrined and said something like "yeah, we learned a lot with that one".  Which, fair enough I guess they did, and...

TWO SLOT IIsi Nubus Card hack . . . Take 2

You've more tenacity than I, Gunga Din Nice project.  I had just been reading your other thread on this.  Nice to see you've got it completed.

Looking at a 6100...is this really a correct video card?

Looks like the seller has a photo of it working plugged in to a 6100, but it sticks up out of the case.  You'd need the little riser card that lets the card sit sideways to be able to put the lid on the case, which I'm guessing you'd like to do :)

    SCSI Zip drive

Jaz termination switch should be: I (on)  A (automatic) and O (off) Maybe part of the O rubbed off or something to look like a C I've been thinking about it, and it seems that Zip drives were plentiful at my thrift stores a couple of years ago, mostly parallel and mostly costing about $5 and...

new case styles for Floppy Emu

I like either the grey or the white, with a preference for the white. Making the end plate black would be cool :)

    Asante EtherTalk Installer 5.6.1

A little older, but maybe will work for you: https://msu.edu/software/macos/comshare/ShareWare/Ethernet%20drivers/Asante%20Ethernet%20Card%20Driver/5.2.9Asant:8e%20EtherTalk%20Installer/ or http://ns4.reboot.net.au/hardware/AsanteFAST/UseThisOrDie/ Good luck

68882 FPU, worth the upgrade? And other upgrades.

It's my understanding that dead or dying capacitors often smell like dead or dying fish; this might explain your dead or dying cd drive. External SCSI zip drives do exist, and show up various places from time to time.  It is a handy sneaker-net sort of way of transferring data.  Also, they're...

Serious proposal: accelerator and peripheral expansion system

I don't know anything about digital electronics but I've gotta say I'm fascinated reading through your updates and excited about your project.  Keep up the good work!

    RGB monitor

There are some converters out there (like on Ebay) that will convert CGA, EGA, video arcade, etc to VGA.  They're generally not terribly expensive. I'm thinking maybe I ought to grab one just so I've got the solution around.
