can I put a ethernet card in a Mac Classic?

There were several different etherwave adapters, one for AAUI ethernet, one for AUI, one to hook up to the computer's localtalk serial port and thence to ethernet, one to hook one printer to ethernet via localtalk, another to hook several printers and computers to ethernet via localtalk.  You...

    Performa 6205 - YUCK!

I think I have a functioning Q700; may be willing to trade for some of your awesome projects... I have no idea what they're going for on ebay lately.

Mac Keyboards with Windows and Linux, convenience?

I know with the pictured keyboard I would be hitting the PageUp key instead of or in addition to the Enter key something like 75% of the time.  Right shift looks tiny too.  Nothing one couldn't get used to though I guess.

How long does OS9 take to boot for you?

It may be looking for a network connection or a specific server until it times out and can continue, often without an error message. Booting with extensions off can help, or try turning off networking.

    Color Classic!

Yep, that's the one. Based on what I've seen here, that would have been a little closer for you I think.  A couple of others here too.  I was a little panicked that someone else would have snatched it up before I got there.

    Color Classic!

Yesterday I found a Color Classic advertised on the locally popular equivalent to craigslist.  Seller said it would not power on, but I know CC logic boards are relatively plentiful and I thought I'd take a chance. It's in really nice condition with virtually no yellowing.  It came with a...

    File Transfer over Serial?

I recently used a 8 pin mini din to 9 pin adapter that I found at a thrift store (I think it was originally a Mac plus serial adapter, but who knows) which I then attached to a PC-style null modem cable.  Worked a treat.  No clue what the pinouts are though, sorry.  I do see those md8 to db9...

    Modern printer, old Mac?

http://www.vintagemacworld.com/osxprint.html Good primer on sharing an OSX printer with vintage stuff.  Also good links etc. Mind, I haven't tried this, but it looks legit  :)

Using OS9 (or older) for daily internet tasks in 2017

Old like PowerMac 8600, MacOS 8/9, Netscape IE and iCab. Haven't tried Classilla.

Using OS9 (or older) for daily internet tasks in 2017

OK, here's at least a start:   https://virtuallyfun.superglobalmegacorp.com/2014/03/11/web-rendering-proxy-update/ This is a python script that runs on OS X (earlier versions at least, I don't know about current versions) which renders webpages into a clickable gif or jpeg or something and...

Using OS9 (or older) for daily internet tasks in 2017

I always have trouble with the Macintosh Garden when I try to access it on old computers unfortunately, which is a pity because that's exactly the sort of thing the garden should do well. I've seen other solutions wherein a newer mac does the actual browsing and heavy lifting, then forwards a...

Bodge Wires on LC III Motherboard?

I wouldn't rule it out.  I'm afraid I couldn't be more specific.  I'll maybe dig out my LCIII and see what it looks like.

Bodge Wires on LC III Motherboard?

I've seen green wire on Apple repairs.  This does look like more work than usual, and not quite as neat as usual, but I wouldn't rule out official Apple work

Generic wireless ethernet bridges - anyone tried?

I happened yesterday to see people on the web recommending similar devices for older computers with ethernet but without wireless.  http://www.brutman.com/Wireless_for_Classics/Wireless_for_Classics.html No Apple or Macintosh information, but it's a start.

remove Apple logo from the case?

Carefully though!  Apparently if you push too hard you can dimple the front of the logo.

    Macintosh SE (M5010)

Interesting machine.  First time I've seen a battery soldered in an SE.  Funny little board for the ram too.  If I recall correctly, some of the older boards required cutting a resistor, later boards had a jumper for memory selection. (Or was that the Plus?  Hmmmm.) In any event, looks like a...
