What is the best Apple II to buy?

Not to gloat or anything, but I just scored an Apple IIe enhanced with two drives, a handful of disks and an Imagewriter II at the local thrift store for $50.  Happy happy!

ADB Busboy: Adapter for USB peripherals over ADB

Here's an old-school Apple M0100 mouse converted to USB, which could then be plugged in to ADB :) http://retroconnector.com/products/desktop/m0100-mouse-conversion/

    Monitor III with Apple badge

Looks almost exactly like the inventory control tags used by the university where I used to work. Also, ditto Gorgonops

Where to buy apple 2 diskettes

Also have a look at www.floppydisk.com if you need a bunch.  They sell 50 packs of 5.25 DSDD for about $50.

    PowerBook...from Canada?

I'm pretty sure I've seen those stickers on US machines.

    Is this a good deal?

Good deal to get the IIe in there too.  Those are going for good $$ on ebay.

    Sourcing RAM These Days?

Costs more than a swap meet (probably) but surprisingly affordable: http://www.memoryx.com/apple.html They've got a lot of vintage type ram and it's all sorted by model so you get just what you need.

    1.44meg images on 800k machines.

Shrinkwrap might be good, except the 2.0 version requires system 7.  Maybe there's an older version out there somewhere?  I didn't see any with some quick googling, but I didn't spend much time with it.

Picking up tomorrow: SE/30 with Radius Pivot monitor!

I've also got a DaynaFile, also with a missing power supply.  If you ever come across any information about it, let us (me!) know.

    Converting Fullpaint Documents?

MacLinkPlus is a possibility.  Seems they had translators for everything.  The garden has versions 7, 11, and 14.  One of them should do the trick.

    Upgrading HD in Macintosh TV

OK, confirmed to be SCSI via the service manual (and apparently will be corrected in next Mac Tracker). SCSI2SD is a good way to go for this, or maybe a newer scsi hard drive with an adapter.

    Upgrading HD in Macintosh TV

According to MacTracker the Macintosh TV uses IDE hard drives internally.  Doesn't seem right to me, but that's what's listed.  IDE drives are much easier to find, and some people have had good luck with an IDE to Compact Flash adapter. If MacTracker is wrong (perish the thought!), the SCSI2SD...

Can I get sleep functionality in Mac OS 7.5.5 or earlier?

These machines are from an era in which we had DUST COVERS for our computers; "sleep" wasn't really a thing (except for laptops). Also before OSX, the longer the computer ran the less stable it became.  Running without rebooting/powering off was an invitation to trouble.

Snatching victory from the jaws of tragedy... Jealous.

    Fried SE/30 Ethernet Card?

It's my understanding that some older ethernet cards have a hard time connecting with 100-BaseT or faster routers and switches.  Do you have a 10-Base T hub or switch you could try it with?

    Zip Drive for Macintosh Plus

I find zip drives all the time in the local thrift stores, usually $5-$10 and no shipping.  You might give that a try.  Also, get the zip100 rather than the newer zip250, as I don't think the driver for the 250 would work on the Mac Plus.  Printer port drives are by far the most common, but I...

    Recapping - Current thinking

I had my brand new dual floppy SE FDHD (score!) open yesterday to remove the battery; I mostly noticed a bunch of radial caps on the logic board.  Didn't notice tantalum caps, but I wasn't really looking for them.

Macintosh Garden appears to be down

It was down for a few days this past week, up again for a couple of days, and down again today. I don't know what's going on there.
