I have been trying to get the DOS side of my LC630 going. I have the PC Set control panel set and it sees the DOS card. When I restart the card I get the startup beep. However when I switch to the DOS side there is no video. I have tried fixed resolution monitors and multi scan monitors but I...
From my experience you also need to choose the slowest write speed you can. I find any disc written above 4x rarely works when I try it in an old Mac. My current Mac Studio with Apple external SuperDrive doesn’t give me a speed option (it is greyed out at “Maximum” which is about 20x). Most...
Thanks for all the solutions. IDE-SD, Floppy EMU and slower CD burn. I will hopefully give these solutions a go on the weekend. I need to find a machine with a working CD and floppy drive first so I can work out why everything is failing.
I have this. It was sent to my directly from Stratos in error when I ordered a SCSI one. Even better it was free. It is SD but does look pretty heavy duty.
The PRAM battery is new and reads 4.5v. It would not boot at all without the battery.
I burnt the CD (CD-R) on an old MacBook with SuperDrive. The slowest speed it offered was 10x so I burnt at that as I was aware there could be issues with faster burns.
As a project I plan on resurrecting my...
I have a really weird boot issue with my PM7220. It hasn’t been powered up in 3 years but before it was unplugged last time it was fully functional with a recapped motherboard, rebuilt PSU and fully serviced floppy drive. It won’t boot off the hard drive but that could be expected. It won’t boot...
I finally got my Outbound Laptop to boot via the SCSI adapter connected to a scsi2sd SD drive. Do these screenshots mean I have Macintosh SE ROM's with 4MB of RAM and 4MB of silicon drive? No disk utility software will see the internal Hard Drive, I am assume I have a Hard Disk given the...
I had to do a bit of very gentle bending as the shielding covering the board needed a little deforming. Here are the photos. I will report back on how I go getting it to work.
I finally got my hands on an Outbound Laptop here in Australia. It starts up to the disk icon but that is it. It sounds like there is a Hard drive spinning up inside it but haven’t been game to open it yet. It came with the external floppy drive and SCSI adapter plus a cable for each. The...
