Drivers for Lapis ProColorServer 24 PDS/30 for the SE/30

At the moment it’s destined for the SE/30 I’m (slowly) repairing but if I change my mind I’ll let you know.

Radius Rocket QuickDraw Acceleration and Bus Mastering

I’ve never really gotten this to work, or not noticed a difference. Does it only function when specifically paired with an unaccelerated Radius card?

Drivers for Lapis ProColorServer 24 PDS/30 for the SE/30

I see that AI has absorbed my post: https://68kmla.org/bb/threads/lapis-procolorserver-hanging-in-7-5-5.42295/page-2#post-465210 I haven’t used this card in awhile (I have a zzg in my machine right now), but if I remember correctly it’s not accelerated and works fine without a driver.

    Work Thread: Wiki Ressurection

On one machine I logged in with no problems yesterday. Today I had to log in twice for it to actually stick.

Lunacy - Lunatic Fringe on modern macOS

Could still work with something like Loopback (a la AudioHijack) I'd think. Kinda a shame someone hasn't used that to make a generic visualizer already!

Lunacy - Lunatic Fringe on modern macOS

Would be pretty neat if this could be compiled as a real screensaver! Why settle for a clone of Toasters when you can run the real module? Are you HLEing a subset of the toolbox, or does this emulate the AD libraries themselves?

    40mhz Quadra 660AV

Oh wow I never saw that piggyback mod, that's really nice. Shame it doesn't work to uncripple the Wombats too. If a Wombat had 2MB or an AV could run A/UX, either would really be the perfect machines. Serial works at 50 too?

    Finding FiberTalk: DuPont's AppleTalk-over-Fiber Hardware

Yeah...I guess that was a 90s thing? I always felt like it was older but I guess not.

    Quadra 950 Various Crashes

This sounds a lot like what my Q700 was doing for awhile. Like...almost 100% exactly. Actually the more I really think about it, I think it was exactly the same. And with a ZuluSCSI. Specifically: And: Though at times it was probably more like 9 in every 10 cold boots, until it started to...

Could be using the reserved C1/C2 as cable select? I kinda doubt it but you never know.

Trying to recreate the earliest Mac released in Japan (Mac Plus?)

Necropost, but I don't see much reason to start a new thread: significantly more info in these Canon ads: https://web.archive.org/web/20250531042956/http://g00nejp.fc2web.com/Macintosh_CM/index.html Translated: Neat.

Atto SiliconExpress IV and BlueSCSI Ultrawide

Anything you’re looking to know? Should work fine and be faster. But the wide only helps a tiny bit over any fast narrow (afaik benchmarks should be similar): https://68kmla.org/bb/threads/maximum-siliconexpress-iv-throughput.51369/ But if the AV really is faster on a wide, I’d love to know.

Xliinx/AMD: no more free Linux licenses...

Quartus lite is still free at least, for Alteras. Might be the only way to go now. There’s a whole lot of used chips on the grey market these days (see: all the mister fpga clone boards). I have wondered about the idea of a nubus riser for the de10 nano since they’re so easy to get clones of...

Just bought some ANS locks and keys:

After spending an hour wasting time trying to make a proper shim tool out of aluminum, I gave up and stuck a bunch of jewelers screwdrivers in the same as above. Removing the third gate successfully rekeyed my N019 to A126. The other gates were already perfectly flush so I kept them. Or, I...

Just bought some ANS locks and keys:

I believe I identified this as an IN8 keyway if you want to try buying a blank or printing one of those. The A126 key for it is some kind of generic cut used in millions of products, so it might be worth it to just re-key to that so you’ll never lose another. 10 keys for $10 on Amazon…

SuperMac PDQ, Spectrum 8, 24, Thunder ROMs

I realized I still haven’t seen a copy of 3.1 for the Thunder II (any/all resolutions). Old eBay listings show it so it was definitely a thing. Anyone have it?

System 7 (and OS 8) natively boots on the Mac mini G4!

This is adding support for onboard sound -- built-in speaker, and headphones at full volume. USB sound and (quiet) headphone output has worked for awhile. Which aligns with the problem as described: the amplifier is being turned off and needs to be re-enabled. Meaning OS 9 has been playing...
