Or use a transceiver with the AUI port if it has one.
If he truly wants to host a BBS, the WiModem232 would be the best option and DB9 to DB25 cables are readily available on ePay.
That checks out too.
So I got another working 7600 logic board and get the same results, so maybe it's not a serial port issue. If I fire up the latest PPC version of ZTerm v1.1b7, I can't select either one of the serial ports. If I use the 68k version of ZTerm v1.01, the modem port doesn't...
Haha! Thanks for going down the rabbit hole. Now that I think about it, I ran into the same issue with the message posting crash but just thought I had an unstable copy of the program. That's one of the reasons I went with v3.5.11 running as a game server on my BBS instead of v3.1.1.
Were...
Sidd's gonna take a look into it and hopefully he can at least disable the serial number check in the message editor. I believe that the program is fully functional otherwise, correct?
I think the cracked app just lets you use and old serial number. I guess you'll find out in a month after installing if it doesn't accept outside calls...
Voltage is good to the 8925, and all the lines to the Curio are good. I just can't figure out where the GCRTSA line from the 8925 goes from the schematics...
A BlueSCSI wifi will give you HD emulation and let you have wireless network access. An external PiSCSI can do the same and also let you easily set up a netatalk (AppleTalk) file server which makes it a breeze getting files to the SE from a modern Mac. And it will also let you print over your...
It's not the modem cable - it works fine with my other Macs and I tried another one just to be safe and got the same results.
Thanks for the suggestions, but without the schematics I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to check connections between those two chips, at least with my limited...
Ok, so here's the deal - the data in is fine as I can see my wifi modem booting up and connecting to wifi, but there's no data out as I can't type in any "at" commands. Everything works fine from the printer port. Continuity from the modem port lines to the DS8925M chip at U4 are good and...
Smart - run the BBS on your PC so you can play on your Macs! 😀
The only wifi modem with a full AT command set capable of hosting a BBS that I'm aware of is the WiModem232. I've got an instance of Hermes II v3.5.11, which works on 68k Macs and supports TCP/IP connections, running via emulation...
