I have Q700 triplets. One is stock, one had a 7100 tuschie graft for three slots and a G3 accelerator. The third is partway to having some PCI board or other that'll take a G4 upgrade installed. Lots of work leveling out the ribbing on the bottom where it interferes with components on the solder...

IIRC, you need to run the Pismo in something like closed lid clamshell mode(?) to unify the VRAM in order to get a max 1600x1200x24bit out onto an external screen. Never got the kid's TI up and running, how does it compare to the Pismo in terms of VRAM, video subsystem and what it can throw on...

Indeed, those features would be why I was wondering if the Zero could be adapted to replace Pico on any of those boards.

OOPSIE! :oops: Meant to make the point that I don't know the response times of SD as opposed to CF or even large file transfer rates. So the above is based upon the my understanding that the storage interface of a machine's I/O setup would be the limiting factor. Am I correct in that assumption?

IDE is very marginally faster than the SCSI bus on those machines. Without contention if more than one SCSI peripheral is present, which would be CD in the case in Q630-P6360 et al.. Someone here or there did the benchmarking to prove Primitive IDE implementations were as fast or slightly faster...

Yep, but as I said, I don't like tying up the external SCSi connector, might work on the TAM if if fits though. I the ports cover isn't shielded that is.

;) Front bezel pops off easily enough for card changes. WiFi antenna lead and USB-C cable can be routed to Tuner Bay cover or the vestigial LC port cover. SD extension cable as well?

IDC 50M connector crimped onto the SCSI section of the harness underneath the CD adapter bar would be my suggestion. Unless you listen to radio with the tuner box, that cubic might be about perfect for a laptop SD solution? Out of town ATM, so I can't check for fit. Thinking 2.5" might be too...

Indeed, that's why I said it was massive overkill as a replacement for Pico. Just watched the vid I linked above that relates directly to Pico. Seems like an easy enough mod that's better/more flexible by installing a cut cable's leads directly to board contacts leading to the antenna...
