    Does anyone have Baton Mail?

Seems all links I could find online are dead. I've just installed a heap of RAM in my SE/30, I'd really like to have some email running on there without a networked helper system.  For that matter, is Baton Mail the only client for 68k that has SSL and SMTP AUTH compatibility?

Color Classic woes- recapped but no power

I had considered it, but doesn't the mod increase the thermal load on the analog board? It is an extra selling point, though. I'll probably just do it anyway.

Color Classic woes- recapped but no power

You know what? That was kinda fun! Not at all as difficult as I figured it would be. Just took my time and had some TNG on in the background. The glue was a little interesting to pull off, especially from those two caps glued down on their sides. But, as far as I can tell, it's all gone...

Color Classic woes- recapped but no power

I was hoping for a map of the caps to the rear of the board. I've poked through that thread in the past. I suppose I'll just have to be careful and take it slowly. The board seems fairly robust, anyway.

Color Classic woes- recapped but no power

Finally got around to pulling out the analog board. Someone requested a picture? http://imgur.com/ypthvkP Otherwise, I've now got another issue- Does anyone have recommendations, or a "map" of which leads to desolder for the capacitors?

Color Classic woes- recapped but no power

Yup, a step up or two in voltage but no higher. Certainly with temp. I don't plan on keeping this one around, but I'd at least like to do a proper job.

Color Classic woes- recapped but no power

Yup, my thoughts exactly. It might be my first recap, but certainly not my first soldering job. That's some left over flux... I really ought to do a post-recap cleaning. It can't hurt, and I can leave it out to dry for a week since the analog board will be out for a week or two.  I did look into...

Pictures of front and back, full resolution. You can zoom in quite a bit. Had to upload to imgur because the upload here wasn't liking me.  http://imgur.com/gallery/ZI5Ah

Color Classic woes- recapped but no power

Will post pictures in a few hours. Washed with lightly warmed water and isopropyl. Scrubbed with a soft bristle toothbrush. That was done before the caps were removed, so I made sure to clean under the caps after I pulled them off.

Color Classic woes- recapped but no power

Yeah, I can't shake the feeling that it's something iffy on the motherboard. If there's some common issues I haven't already covered, I'm all ears. Otherwise, I'll be recapping that board in about a week, just to be sure

    Double post, sorry.

Color Classic woes- recapped but no power

I have not, where is the best point to check the voltage to the board?  I checked that when checking continuity on the ADB chip. It checks out. No schematic, but I've seen lots of resources online regarding recapping the board. I should do that, and with how often I've heard people saying I...

Color Classic woes- recapped but no power

The whole point of my test without the logic board installed was to check that the analog board was at least partially functional. It seems to me that, while it hasn't been recapped, I should be able to at least get it running with whats there. If there are screen issues, I'll get to those fixes...

Color Classic woes- recapped but no power

Hi, Looking to get some additional input on repairing a color (colour...) classic Macintosh.  Here's the tests and procedures, in order, that I have done so far: Pulled motherboard to check power supply functionality- OK Washed motherboard and reinserted for a basic check- FAIL Removed rear...

Help setting up a simple terminal session to an SE/30

Looking to get some simple instructions on setting up a serial terminal connection between my PC and my SE/30. I can't seem to get it to work at the moment, so I'm sure there's either something I'm overlooking, or I've got some faulty cables.  I've got a mini DIN 8 to DB9 connector, hooked that...

Getting an internet connection on SE/30 w/ 7.5.3 (MacPPP, MacTCP config help!)

Right?  To their defense it's a spin off the of the popular used book store called "Book Off". I would assume by "Hard" they meant "Hardware".

Getting an internet connection on SE/30 w/ 7.5.3 (MacPPP, MacTCP config help!)

Excellent. I've got two weeks in Tokyo, I'll be prowling the alleyways with my extremely limited Japanese vocabulary.  How about Hard Off? I've heard their larger branches carry buckets of loose components.  I'll have to just keep looking for an ethernet card, but again I'd rather just have a...

Getting an internet connection on SE/30 w/ 7.5.3 (MacPPP, MacTCP config help!)

Thanks just.in.time. Yes, that is how it is hooked up. Just a generic USB modem from fleabay hooked up to the rPi. I've made up a telephone line voltage inducer just to be sure. I have noticed that the DreamPi software isn't initializing properly but I'm tight on time and will have to debug that...

Apple //c with socketed ram chips

So, it was hitting the bottom of the drive? If so that's going to be a problem. I didn't account for height when I purchased the sockets, so they're not the slimmest ones out there. It'll take me some time because of the shipping but I'll have it done and report back.

Apple //c with socketed ram chips

Has anyone replaced all of the ram chips onboard an older style //c mainboard?  I'm going to have to replace at least one chip, and I figured I'd do 'em all at once and solder on sockets to facilitate swapping in the future.  First, is it wise to replace them all, even if most are functional? ...
