    Planning my "Reloaded" SE/30 build.

Yay! Found a donor board, or rather its current owner, who is relatively local to me, found me! And has built reloaded boards and can assist me down the road. Awesome!

    Performa 6360

Re: the trash, I kinda like it. the Desktop? Definitely! Will go with period correct background stock photo when I have time to mess with that control panel. I always set a photo when I could. As far as putting a G3 upgrade in, well, I have a Beige G3 266, with an additional backup machine...

    Performa 6360

Ended up with a Performa 6360 nearly free, along with a purchase of an Apple "Trinitron" CRT and another vintage computer a local seller was offloading very inexpensively before moving. )He even through in a 6116CD with a missing HD for free. I took it because the pizza box case was in good...

    Planning my "Reloaded" SE/30 build.

And also, I don’t really fully have a donor board yet anyway, other than IIvx bored at my ease for some parts. I’m not that knowledgeable, but that one looks pretty rough so I can see what you are saying. I will go ahead and watch the Caymac vids also. Thanks!

    Planning my "Reloaded" SE/30 build.

Well, kind of started. Mostly just planning steel and collecting things. And yeah, let’s call me just a complete noob on computer builds, so this is going to be very much a work in progress. I may still hire some of it out. Planning stages still. I said, I might be able to get some help...

Choosing a CPU upgrade for my Beige G3 266

Great, thanks! The seller in Japan was helpful too and helped me feel confident that it would work well, so I pulled the trigger.

What IDE adapters are you using?

Ok, needing to figure this out for a 180 MHz 3400c I now have. Along with RAM. Have a line on a Buffalo 128k Ram module I think I am hopping on.

Choosing a CPU upgrade for my Beige G3 266

Thanks for that! Not sure. I am away from that machine for a few days so will have to look when I get back. Good thought!

    Planning my "Reloaded" SE/30 build.

Would love anyone's help and/or thoughts in planning out my Mac SE/30 Reloaded build. I purchased from @GreenBar0n his purple Reloaded board he didn't need with these parts: (6) PLCC 20 sockets, (4) PLCC 68 sockets and (1) CPU socket, I have a NOS MC68030RC33B, 33MHz CPU, and I have a...

Choosing a CPU upgrade for my Beige G3 266

I have decided that I want my beige G3 desktop to be one of my flagship vintage machines. I just love the ugly old form factor, and the incorporation (first time for me) of color and CD-ROM. And that era was when I committed as a solo lawyer, to the Mac environment for my office, though I was...

    New Project: DoubleVision SE/30 Card

Started following this thread a while back and am still quite interested in the concept. I definitely would like to add a second color monitor to my Mac SE/30, preferring to keep the original monochrome monitor, and the other options are unobtanium at this point. As my computing experience...

68030 Classic Macs as Synths/music development and performance -

Collecting links to software (aforementioned Cubase, Opcode Studio, Opcode EZ-Vision) and some hard ware. Found both the Midiman MacMan, and also an Opcode Studio Pro option in original box with all original stuff, so got both. and a nicer midi controller (area correct Roland with weighted...

    New to me Apple][e collection.

To a certain extent, I think I will end up using floppy emu for most things anyway. I think the working floppy drives, as I have the side-by-side that works, and will try to you get one of the 3.5 inch drives working, will just be for novelty or if I happen upon software in those formats.

@volvo242gt OK, I think I see what you are saying. The 3.5 drive I have is labeled Unidisk. Also, I got a second monitor up and running via the A2DVi Card. The other little cheap one I bought at the computer recycler just must have the wrong resolution or doesn’t support the resolution used...

    New to me Apple][e collection.

OK, this is all new to me so I will look into that. Can you describe for me the advantages of a Ramworks card though? Also, the machine did come with a working 3.5 inch drive and I thought there was a card for it but maybe I’m wrong. or maybe you were talking about a higher capacity drive...

    New to me Apple][e collection.

Yep, from the seller, who is a good guy who, as I said runs a Boise vintage computing club: “Likewise, Steve, glad you've joined us! I picked it up last year from a local guy who is the grandson of the original owner. The original owner was an Apple-certified technician in the 80's and later...
